Ever tried solving a Rubix cube?

I can remember countless hours in my youth when I sat and tried to figure out how to complete this puzzling little device. Remember that feeling when you go a while side the same color just to mess it up on the next twist?

Now LEGO is getting in on the act with the Rubik’s cube solver.
It is basically a Lego robot that has 3 functions; to turn the bottom face, holding the upper layers and pushing the cub aside. Ok, so it was 4 functions if you count the fact that it is designed to solve the Rubix cube conundrum.

How does it do this?

Well it uses a webcam to scan the faces and colors of the cubes. This data is then transmitted to a computer where it will solve the puzzle and send the required actions back to the robot to solve. Great, eh?!

And who said Lego wasn’t for practical purposes?
