Geeks and non-geeks alike love Star Wars. Lego Star Wars however is loved by Lego fanatics and Star Wars fanatics but who would go to the next level and build a Lego Star Wars Chess board but nerds! Don’t get me wrong, I am a nerd and as geeky as your regular Star Wars-loving, Lego-building, chess master. I am just so amazed at how this project turned out.

After Lego Star Wars on videogames and its minifigs were out in the market, I thought that was the end of it. But alas and behold a Star Wars themed chess board made out of Lego pieces. Try to top that nerd brother!

The Lego Star Wars chess board is based on the very first Star Wars movie with details such as Greedo, and the Y-Wing. Brandon Griffith, the creator based everything on the game of chess but wanted to depict scenes from the first Star Wars as well –the job was painstaking but this guy did a very good job. Kudos to the master!

The board itself is a labor of love and the minifigs are rather amazing too. Griffith built micro-scale vehicles from the movie and the board even includes small vignettes for chess pieces.

Brandon Griffith also created micro-scale ships from Star Trek and he even speaks Klingon. This very talented guy made a bird of prey Klingon way before the Star Wars chess board. It is not surprising that he made the chess board because his first creations got an A+.
