The Lego movie titled “Pirates” is not related to the infamous film “Pirates of the Caribbean”. This Lego drama starts out in the high seas with a cargo ship off to deliver goods. The two members of the small vessel see a British ship in distress and goes near it to go to its rescue if in case someone was on board. By the time the Lego seafarers get near the ship, a pirate flag is raised and their cargo is taken away from them. John Todd, the first mate of the pirate ship somehow lets these two merchants off the pirate ship into their own boat –this is the start of the pirates’ journey into Port Royale.

Once in the port, John Todd meets his lover and their daughter. He later on decides that he should retire from piracy and looking for buried treasures under the sea. The story climaxes to John Todd’s daughter being kidnapped by his own captain and John himself was thrown off the ship by his friend Diego.

To know more about John Todd and his adventure, you can watch it right here and see how the whole story unfolds. This movie was posted by YouTuber CannedGravy.

The “Pirates” movie is proof enough to show Lego fans and non-fans that Lego minifigs are capable of drama as well. This movie is well-made and is posted on YouTube. It was never imagined before that Lego minifigs are capable of performing in a rather compelling fashion.

Aside from the drama, the special effects are very professional -kudos indeed to the movie’s director and the scriptwriter. If there was a Lego Movie Awards, this movie will win the Best Special Effects award and it will bag the best storyline as well. Apart from that, best actor will go to either John Todd or to El Capitan.

This movie is rather unexpected of Legoland, too bad the whole set and the characters are not for sale.
