Building Your Own Lego Sports Car

A Lego sports car is the ultimate fantasy for a Lego fan. Very simple to complex designs of Lego sports car can be created. Lego has a history of car models and is also contracted with motor racing giants Ferrari in making replicas.

If there has a been a particular sports car that just takes your breath away then Lego gives you the opportunity to create a miniature replica of it. Begin with the picture of your favorite car in your mind. Draw it on paper to be as accurate as possible. If you do not have one in mind, just visit any website that has design software you can use. Download it and use it to make a car virtually before using your Lego pieces to create one. The Lego models are usually one figure models to accommodate the driver. A passenger figure is placed at the back in some models. If you want to use two Lego figures for the front of the car, you will have to think about the modifications required.

Use a cardboard and start building your Lego car inside it. A towel placed on a hard surface can also be used to prevent the Lego pieces from falling off. Make the base of the wheels first. There are preset designs available for single Lego figure cars. Simple tires will require one plate with two studs at the end. Pins and larger wheels are needed to hold complex tires. Put the Lego figures in after the wheel base is completed. Start building around the Lego figures since they are supposed to be inside. A seat is not necessary for a Lego figure to perch upon.  Start with the bumpers and make you way in to build the rest of the car. Make an engine if it pleases you. Add doors. Roof is an option you can avoid it if you build a convertible.
