You are done building a Lego castle or palace but find something missing in your backdrop. What could it be? Well maybe you can add a Lego mountain that will complete the picture so your newly-built castle will look like its in the wilderness.
You can even depict a battle taking place between two armies with the mountain in the background. A mountain makes for a good view if done properly by using Lego pieces provided the mountain is built on well though out base work.
A mountain is a very large structure so you have to work out the height of your Lego Mountain. If it is too small then the majestic value of the mountains cannot be shown. Keeping the height of the mountain in mind, start to create the platform for the mountain. A broad base will help to build a high mountain. Set aside the black, green and gray Lego pieces from the other pieces. Use the gray and white colored Lego bricks to depict a snowfall. Slightly tilted bricks will give the effect of snow sliding down the mountains. Take the rest of the pieces for the construction of the inner side of the mountain.
Use a flat platform for the base. The shape of the mountains need not be perfectly circular since few mountains have that shape. Mountains undergo lots of physical changes so give a rough look to your mountain so it looks realistic. Place a rough brick in a smooth layer of bricks for effect. Displace the direction of some bricks to show a curve. Start on the next layer after one is dealt with completely. Displace the bricks in this layer to give a rough look. Use this procedure till you reach the top of the mountain. Add a flag for creativity to signify that you have scaled the mountain. Cover the mountain with gray bricks to avoid visibility of any colored inner bricks. And voila! a mountain right behind your castle.
