Lego Skyscraper: Part II

Standing in Legoland USA just outside San Diego, California, the freedom tower was built just a few months after the destruction of the World Trade Center in New York. The creator of the Lego replica is Daniel Libeskind. Its height is only 28 feet tall, large by Lego standards, and has approximately 170, 000 Lego bricks. Julie Estrada, the spokeswoman of Legoland said at the time the replica was displayed said that it is a “way to pay tribute to the heroes and victims of 9/11.” However, even if the replica has been built already, the original is still not standing to the dismay of the American people. It is good however that the Lego replica is at Legoland.
Another interesting Lego replica is Lego Taipe 101 created by DaweiDrake. The creation is very accurate and Drake used green transparent bricks coupled with sand blue plates. The whole Lego replica feels like it’s the real deal. Its builder said he was tempted to call the creation Taipei 10001 since he used a whopping 10, 000 little coloured bricks.

If you think the first two are gargantuan in proportion already, wait until you see the Lego 30 St. Mary. The creation stands in Legoland Windsor and has a height of approximately 14 feet. Amazing isn’t it? This beautiful creation looks exactly the same as the original. The original looks a bit darker though but that is because of the bricks lack sheen.
