Have you ever wondered what brick-genius Nathan Sawaya is up to these past few months? Well, Nathan has been putting up graffiti all over New York. Yes, and he’s doing it all using his favorite medium -Lego bricks.

Introducing Hugman, Nathan’s street installment made completely out of Lego bricks. Hugman, as the name implies, loves to hug things as long as they fit in his arms. Hugman hugs poles, fences posts, bike tires and bike racks.

A bunch of Hugmen first appeared in New York but Nathan has been putting up Hugmen wherever he travels and now there are Hugmen all across the USA.

From the rails of central park, to a STOP sign in California, Hugman is doing what he does best. In Minnesota, Hugman is seen holding on to a camper. The Dow Museum in Michigan was also visited by Hugman, and he can be seen hanging on a bike rack.

Nathan Sawaya is quite established because of his Lego creations. It is a passion that he loves so much that he quit his high-paying job as a corporate lawyer and traded it for a more humble job as a Master Builder in Lego’s Legoland theme park. Later on, he also quit that job and went back to New York to become a freelance Lego artist.

Now, after years of being a freelance artist, he is earning as much as he did as a corporate lawyer, and still enjoys his passion for bricks and the art.

“The Art of the Brick” is the title of Nathan’s travelling exhibit and is currently on tour in North America. Nathan is a full-time freelance artists and accepts commissioned work from individuals, companies, or pretty much just anyone.

Nathan has also recently released a coloring book entitled “Nathan Sawaya’s The Art of The Brick Coloring Book” and it is filled with a lot of fun activities for children.
