Lego has evolved from an ordinary brick toy for 8 to 11 year old kids to a more challenging techie jigsaw puzzle that must be solved.

With various themes and subthemes, every set released is truly inviting. Lego Racers is a great theme that has captured the hearts of many adults.  The first announcement done by the Lego Group about LEGO Racers was in 2001, 10 years later, Lego Racers is still a popular theme for sports car Lego fanatics.

You might remember Xalax, the Crash ‘em Racer that was promoted together with a kid’s meal in McDonalds. After that, several subthemes were developed which includes Tiny Turbos, RC, Power Racers and Drome Racers.  But today, detailed sets are released with the latest subtheme, the Lego Lamborghini released in 2009.

The two most popular license themes in Lego are the Ferrari and Lamborghini. The Ferrari subtheme was introduced in 2004 and it released several remarkable Ferrari models sets. The Ferrari Enzo hailed as the fastest street car in the world, is also included in the Ferrari Enzo 1:10 in 2005. Another set in 2006 is the Ferrari Scuderia which is a racer set of the original Scuderia truck, one Ferrari racer and five minifigures of pit crew members. The Italian grand prix comes to life with the Ferrari Finish line with the 573-piece set that contains everything including two racecars, two popular drivers, announcer, camera operator, pit crew and station plus the special finish line.

The Lego Lamborghini is introduced in 2009 and to date, it already has two models.  The 8169 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 is an extremely detailed set with engine cover and opening doors. It has 741 pieces with an overall dimension of 10.5 inches by 4.5 inches by 3 inches. This set is surely something that should not be disassembled. The latest addition to the Lamborghini collection is the 8214 Gallardo LP 560-4 Polizia released in 2010. Designed by Andrew Woodman, this is based on two Lambo Gallardo given to the Italian police.  The model set is packed with authentic replica from the original Polizia cars – from the pipes to the wheel rims. It also has a fire extinguisher and organ transplant box inside.
