Lego will always be an all-time favorite toy as it expands its borders to theme parks, video games, Lego themes, books and other merchandise. The year 2011 is packed with new surprises, new themes, collectible minifigures, books etc.
Starting of are the opening of a Legoland theme park in Dubai, which will be the first in the Middle East and another one opening in Florida, which will be the second for North America. The Legoland discovery center will also open in Texas on spring 2011. We have mentioned these to you before but we are mentioning them again in case you forgot.
Themes that will be introduced are Ninjago, a minifigure-centered theme featuring spinjitzu ninjas like Kai, Cole, Zane ; Pirates of the Caribbean that will be released eighth times covering the whole four films, Pharaoh’s Quest and Alien Conquest. Discontinued in 2001, Winnie the Pooh will be reintroduced together with three new sets under Walt Disney’s name. Ending in 2009, SpongeBob Squarepants that lasted for three years will be back in Duplo line. Unfortunately, some themes will be discontinued including Ben 10 and Space Police III. Under Lego racer are several models including Vicious Viper, Storming Enforcer, Demon Destroyer and more. Star Wars will always be the best in history with its long list of future sets to be released including Ewok Attack, Dathomir Speeder, Geonosian Starfighter and more. For the Lego Techic, expect to have mini-container truck, super car, bucket truck, extreme cruiser, rescue helicopter etc. Other themes that will continue are Cars, Kingdoms, Hero Factory, Harry Potter, Creator, City, Bricks and More and Atlantis.
Other merchandise will have some new things to offer. For the video games, releasing soon will be Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: the Video Game, Lego City Stories and The Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. A yet-unnamed video game will also be introduced for the Nintendo 3DS console. For those who enjoyed the trading card game last year, there will be a new set of trading cards from Lego Universe. Sticker collections on Harry Potter, Star Wars and Hero Factory are also included. Key chains, magnets, play weaponry, card holder and coin banks are among the few items for kids this year.
