Year 2010 has brought a lot of cool things for the Lego community. Great sets, great mocs, and just a lot more bricks any Lego nut would love to just grab and put together.

And since 2011 just started, you might be wondering: what’s up for this year in Lego? The answer, of course, is more and more and more Lego!

This year in Lego, we will be seeing a lot of new improvements and additions to existing Lego themes and sets. There is so much in line for the year that it may not even fit in this article.

First off, following the series of minifigs of famous people, 2011 is welcoming new people and famous figures of history, the present time, and even pop culture to the Lego world with new minifigures. Although some may prefer their minifigs the traditional way, there’s no denying the coolness of these new market entries.

This year, we’ll be saying goodbye to the Indiana Jones Lego set. However, it will be replaced by an Egyptian-themed adventure set. Indy fans will just have to face that. But maybe the new Harry Potter sets might make up for it! The Pirates of the Caribbean will be seeing new additions to the existing sets following the premiere of the new movie later this year. Along with this, the timeless Star Wars-themed sets will also get some add-ons and new items.

Speaking of movies in Lego, Lego Racers will be adding new models from Cars 2 the movie this year along with the movie’s release this May.

For the more technical Lego buffs out there, the Technic division has also released some pics of their new models. Lego Technics seem to be getting smaller now, if you have noticed, but that’s great news to all the builders on budget out there.
