So you think March 3 is just another ordinary day? Think again, because March 3 in the Gregorian calendar is the 62nd day of the year.

So what? Today, people in some parts of the globe are celebrating something. It is Bulgaria’s Liberation Day today and in Japan, they are celebrating “Girl’s Day”. In Luxembourg, it is the Cunigunde so basically, it is quite a special day.

To commemorate these celebrations, the Little Coloured Bricks will show you a few Lego creations that have something to do with celebrations in general.

There are feasts the world over no matter how different we are from each other. There is always something to celebrate whatever our rituals may be.

Feasts refer to festivals or feria to those nations that have Spanish influences. Defined as a large meal, feasts or festivals commemorate something –it could be the birth of a King, the ousting of a dictator, the winning of a war or battle, or a country’s successful revolution or a special feast for a certain Saint.

Whatever the reason for such celebrations, feasts in general are good because it signals rest, relaxation, and eating lots of things. It is that time of the year when people who celebrate a certain day can just relax and have fun. It’s when you take the kids out for dinner or go out with friends.

Today, festivals now include entertainment i.e. carnivals, concerts, parades and other entertainment-related activities. In Bavaria, Oktoberfest is celebrated by drinking beer for days on end. Hardcore beer drinkers just stop when they are finally knocked out of their chairs or benches and then start allover again when they have woken up. Some celebrations are crazier than this though because in India they splatter paint to each other during Holi while somewhere in England, they roll down a steep hill in pursuit of a regular-sized ball of cheese.
