Lego Trivia

Puff The Magic Dragon is a rather sad song. It is a story about a dragon toy who enjoyed his heydays when the boy who owns him still fancied his company.

This is not just a story of a boy growing up but of friendships in general and for those who have dark personalities –of death and the sorrow of living forever.

For many, the song written by Peter, Paul & Mary is just a song but for some, it is a reminder of a lot of things i.e. nothing lasts forever. This ugly truth is revealed in the song but do not be saddened by this because Puff lives on and he is now happier –look at his latest picture.

More Lego Dragons

Love dragons in general? There is a big, green one at Downtown Disney right in front of Lego’s Imagination Center. This big Lego dragon is on the water and made out of a lot of bricks.

Another dragon in Legoland is a blue one and a rather scary version of other dragons. Its icy body and its teeth make Puff the Magic Lego look like a young choirboy.

What Are Dragons?

Dragons are a mix of serpentine and reptilian traits. The term dragon is from the Greek word Drakon which is translated as a huge water snake. Although stories about dragons emerge in different cultures, it is explained by anthropologist David E. Jones that dragons have appeared in different cultures because of mankind’s instinctive fear for snakes and birds of prey. Some scientists believe however that the emergence of dragons in different cultures was due to an accidental excavation of dinosaur remains –giving rise to speculations and later on stories about the dragon kind.

Dragons are usually portrayed as malevolent but in the Welsh tradition, some dragons help protect cities.
