FTC in Shanghai Coming Soon, this is the tweet from Lego Education.
This is fresh news from Lego education folks and those who are in Shanghai, China should be excited.
The FIRST Tech Challenge FTC competition will be held at the Shanghai American School in its Pudong campus. This competition will be on April 23, 2011.
The event will be in collaboration with Semia –Lego Education’s and FTC’s logistics partner in the Asian country.
What is FIRST?
What does it stand for you ask? It stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. It was founded by Dean Kamen, an inventor whose aim is to transform our culture through science and technology. Pretty cool, huh?
This is a great way to teach children how science and technology is important in the world we live in and to make use of technology and science for the betterment of humanity and the rest of our world. This may sound like a beauty pageant aim or answer but FTC is doing its best to actually make their goal into reality hence the said event.
The Lego Group is part of this event among other brands that promote learning. This is definitely an event to watch out for especially for Lego enthusiasts who are in Shanghai. Those who are in other Asian cities might as well get a plane ticket now to be able to participate or take a look at the Lego and robotics creations.
Educators can also bring their students to the event because this is indeed a great learning experience and a fun one at that!
You still have about a month to go to prepare for this China visit so start researching how much you will be needing to get yourself to the Shanghai American School Pudong campus’ doorsteps.
The people involved in the event are very excited about this and so should educators who are in the area.
