LEGO Education recently collaborated with the boy scouts of America and now there are badges that can get these boy scouts a robotics merit badge.
The requirements for the said badge were released on Monday and all the platforms needed by the boys are provided by Mindstorms and Lego Education.
This is exciting news and if you are a boy scout and want to collect all those badges –then you should start working on your Lego project right away. Geeky as it may sound, this will help you earn not only a badge but more money when you grow up. You will not have a hard time with the girls either because some girls just love geeks.
Lego’s aim is to introduce their robotics program to all kids in America and to launch this partnership with the group, they will be holding workshops throughout the US.
Do you remember that kid in the movie UP? Yes, he’s the one who went on an adventure just to be able to complete his badge. Unlike the new boy scouts however, he has not collected the new Boy Scouts robotics badge. Collecting the latter will be an achievement indeed and a pretty cool achievement at that. It will also bring you a bit of adventure as well, so why wait? Devise a plan now and start working on a robotics project by using Lego bricks. Wait for the platform from Mindstorms though to make sure that everything fits perfectly.
This new badge is definitely a wonderful idea to instill to boys that technology is very important. It also provides training for practical applications although Mindstorms is more than practical –it involves engineering so you would have to do a crash course on engineering and science and technology.
Parents would surely love this and the kids will enjoy doing it too!
