When you take a look at mankind’s history, it would be like an extended version of Billy Joel’s We Didn’t Start The Fire music video.

But it is more interesting than that because the extended version shows how far we’ve come and how low we’ve gone just to feed our greed.

Although this discussion is a serious matter, let us show you the journey of mankind through Lego.

Homo sapiens evolved from Homo erectus but before you start debating about whether Darwin’s theory of evolution holds true or not, let us concentrate on human history rather than involving myths or Adam and Eve.

During the Paleolithic period we already had tools –to kill animals, to carve drawings on the wall when we felt like decorating our caves, and at some point, discovered fire and used it for heating. We also discovered that we do not have to eat everything raw anymore since we can cook our food with fire.

Humans then spread swiftly to different parts of the world most specifically to areas that are frost-free.

Some 12000 years ago by the end of the most recent Ice Age, humans already inhabited the temperate regions and we finally decided to stay in one place since we already got tired of being nomads, the agricultural revolution came. We then started to grow crops and later on developed cities as the centres for trade and politics.

Our simple cities at the time had a symbiotic relationship with the countryside that produced the food.

According to historians, when the cities were established, the establishment of shrines followed. These shrines then became temples.

It is interesting to note however that ancient text excavated by a group of anthropologists say that worship of the sun god and the moon god and other deities started way before the establishments of these simple cities.
