As twilight approaches, many children can’t help but think about the evil creatures that come out during the night.
For kids who watch horror films, Vlad Dracula is definitely a staple monster –a staple monster in their dreams and a staple character that they fear. Of course they fear Dracula –he’s a monster right? There are some friendly monsters though like in that movie Monsters vs. Aliens or was it vice versa?
Here’s the story of Vlad Tepes more popularly known as Count Dracula. Along with the different stories or historical accounts are the best Dracula minifigs that can be found online.

Vlad The Impaler – The Legend
Vlad III of Wallachia (1431-1476) is known for his display of cruelty against his own people and of others who tried to conquer Wallachia. Apart from his cruelty however, he also possessed admirable courage. He was such a daring man that one fateful night in 1462, he went on horseback and crossed the Danube to do a night raid of Sultan Mehmed II’s camp. Mehmed II was there to capture Wallachia. Vlad Tepes killed thousands of Turks and the sultan himself barely escaped.

Explaining why he was called Vlad the Impaler is not something that children should read. History is beautiful but as with any story from our history books –there is always bloodshed.
What has made Dracula so popular after all these years? This is not to scare anyone but some historical accounts allude to him still among the undead –yes, a vampire, one that sucks blood out of people by biting onto their necks with two powerful fangs on the upper portion of his set of teeth.

Stroker’s Dracula story came to be over 400 years later –after Vlad Dracula became a known force of darkness. It is interesting that his legend lives on after many centuries, could it be true that he still is among the undead?
