This is a tale as old as time –Beauty and the Beast has always been a great topic for many a movies specifically cartoon ones.

The question is, have you seen their Lego version? Take a look at the photo posted by Matt Armstrong in Flickr and see for yourself.

Whatever your verdict is, we think it’s cool since the Beast is very beasty. In French, Beauty and the Beast is La Belle et la Bete. There are however many different versions of the story but we’d tell you the most popular version.

The Story

Beauty and the Beast is of course about Beauty and the Beast. Beauty or Belle is the youngest daughter of a wealthy merchant. She has sisters who are not as pure hearted as Belle. In fact, her sisters are rather self-centered and wicked. As fate has it, their father loses all his riches and he and his kids had no choice but to live in a farmhouse.

After a few years, the merchant finds out that one of his ships have arrived back and the merchant had to go see if it still had value. Before he left however, he asked his daughters what they want him to bring for them upon his return. The first 2 daughters asked for fine dresses and jewels while Belle only asked for a rose. And you probably already know the rest of the story, the ship is worthless, the merchant goes home empty handed but remembers he has to get a rose for his youngest daughter. He wanders into a forest and seeks shelter in a castle. He stays in the palace and gets a rose in the morning which angers the owner and the story goes down from there until the beast is transformed into a handsome, young prince.
