Cupid may not be such a friendly character to those who are opposed to the business of falling in love but in the world of Lego, Cupid is a rockstar i.e. very loved. For those who are quite in love and are addicted to love, Cupid is a hero –the bringer of happiness but sometimes, once the love between two people has faded, it can turn into a heartache.

Who Is Cupid?

So who is this guy Cupid and why is he stupid? To be fair to the Greek god, Cupid is not really stupid, people just say Stupid Cupid because of Mandy Moore’s song. And maybe they say he is stupid because he just keeps shooting arrows at people so they fall in love.

In Greek mythology Cupid is the god of erotic love, the son of Venus and Mars and the husband of Psyche.

In Latin, he is called Cupido which directly translates to “desire”. People know Cupid as this cherub shooting arrows. He is also Valentine’s Day’s icon.  In fact, he plagues the malls during the season of love.

What is interesting about Cupid is that he also fell in love because he scratched himself with his arrow by accident –this probably is the reason why some people consider Cupid as a little dull. It was an accident though so let’s not judge the guy too quickly just because he fell in love with a human being thanks to his own doing.
