Love pirates? We’re not just talking about the Pirates of the Caribbean but pirates in general. If you love pirates, you better read this.
Shiver me timbers is a phrase that is commonly used by pirates but one of the most popular expressions is “Arrr”. If you remember one of those humour t-shirts that says “To err is human, to arr is pirate”, it just explains a whole lot about the pirate lot and how popular “Arr” is. If you love pirates, you will definitely love these Lego pirate photos.

This one is the quintessential pirate and it is well-made too. If you would like to build something like this, it would be best to take a good look at this photo before you even start.

What Is Piracy?
Piracy is defined as an act of war committed by private parties against other people at sea. This war-like act’s end game is robbery but sometimes it involves violence at sea. Those who engage in piracy are called pirates. Today, there are still pirates at sea but they usually target large ships then ask for ransom money for the ship to be returned to the company that owns it. There are of course other acts that modern pirates do aside from getting ransom money. Maritime piracy is one of the biggest problems in areas near Somalia.

Piracy has existed for a very long time now especially when different nations started trading goods. One of the oldest records of piracy is from 7th century India during the Invasion of Sindh.
The most famous pirates ever however are the Vikings. These Scandinavian warriors and looters ruled the seas between the early 790s to 1066. This age is also known as the Viking Age. Pirates were all over the world at the time since there weren’t any powers that governed the seas.
