Lego Bank Robbery?

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

There hasn’t been any bank robbery reported in Legoland lately except for the one videotaped by Scott Beale in 2009. The Lego City Bank was robbed on that fateful day but the robber was busted by the Lego Police. Thankfully no one got hurt except the guy the robber crashed into while he was on the run. the getaway car was torn into bits but good thing there was no explosion or it would have endangered more people. If you want to take a look at this video you may check it out here.

It’s a good thing that the Lego Police Department was able to contain this incident or else the robber would have victimized other banks such as the Gringotts Bank Bricktopia Branch – a rather posh bank that services the Lego elite.

If you have seen the video, the Lego City Bank did not have much of a safe to protect its monies. A reliable safe would have deterred the robber to take money as easily as he did. Although he forced one of the employees to open the safe, if it needed special codes and lots of other hassle, it would not have happened this way. But then again, someone could have gotten killed because the robber cannot open the safe.

According to Lego safe experts, a good safe for every bank should look like this:

This looks like a safe fit for Gringotts and other bigger banks but the people from Legoland believe that this kind of safe should also be used in ordinary branches.

Adding more security personnel is also a must for every Lego bank especially these days. The Lego economy is also down that is why many Legomen resort to criminal activity. Take for example the outlaws in the western part of Legoland.

Going Lego Gaga (The Lady Gaga Edition)

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Although Lady Gaga makes you go Rara Oh-la-la, the singing sensation’s Lego version will make you feel just about the same. The talented singer and composer is now in Lego, although it is not a project by the Lego group itself, the creations still count as one of the best Lego creations created by Gaga and Lego fans.

This video may not be as good as other stop motion animations but it is as good as it gets. For those who do not know Lady Gaga. She was born as Stephanie Joanne Angelina Germanotta to a well-to-do family in New York City. She went to the Tisch School of the Arts at the New York University and studied music there. She left college though and started singing in bars in the Lower East Side. In an interview with the singer, she said her father thought she was going mad. Later on, as she transformed to the Lady Gaga we know today, she signed a contract with Streamline records. Her debut album is entitled “The Fame Monster”, a record released in 2008. The songs were well-received by fans and it reached the number one spot in countries like Germany, Austria, Canada and Ireland. The song Just Dance became a hit making it one of the favorites of Gaga fans in Asia. When Poker Face was released, it has marked the start of Gaga’s reign as a superstar.

Many argue that Lady Gaga rose to fame not because of her music but because of how she dressed. Considered rather weird yet appealing, Lady Gaga was covered by every magazine, newspaper and tabloid all over the globe contributing to the musician’s popularity.

Lady Gaga Lego minifigs and mock videos were later on created by Lady Gaga’s fans. Although Gaga may not have seen these videos yet, Lego and Gaga fans are fervently looking for the best Lego Gaga video.

Toy Story’s Buzz

If you are fond of Buzz Lightyear -the astronaut from Toy Story, maybe you should get him his very own Star Command so he can explore Lego Universe. While many Lego astronauts have gone to the moon and beyond, Buzz should also do his own Lego space probe so Toy Story fans can join in the fun. Getting this toy will also be a great addition to your Toy Story Lego collection.

Buzz’s adventures won’t be as historical as those of Neil Armstrong and company did though but it will be as fun and as exciting as it was in 1969. In mid-July of that year, man landed on the moon. It was a historical moment for the whole of mankind and the images of which are still shown on TV today. In Legoland however, man’s landing on the moon have been depicted lots of times by many a Lego builder. One of them are Ben Humber and Tom King who posted their  ”Lunar Landing” on YouTube in 2007. This Lego animation however is not an accurate depiction since it involves a little humor in it. The scenes however are picture perfect. The sound effects are cool and so is the animation itself.

If you want to see the video you can go to YouTube and search for the Lunar Landing. There are other interesting related videos as well. If you let your kids watch it, maybe they even want to become an astronaut someday. Now that would be a cool profession, right?

Lego is one way to give your kids an idea that they can be what they want to be when they grow up. And since Lego is a great learning tool, you will be giving your children a great gift of creativity and imagination. These two are very important factors for your child’s development.

Love, Love Me Do

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Love is in the air in Legolandia and it is now time to listen to the classic love songs yet again. Now if you think Valentines should only be celebrated on February 14th, in Legoland -this is not the case.

Legolandia celebrates Valentines to the hilt and the Lego Beatles’ “Love Me Do” performance can prove it. Lego minifigs are now in the mood for lots of loving and this can be seen in many Lego videos. The Lego”Love Me Do” was created by Ricardo Luis Guerra, a YouTuber and his clip is a reminder of how good it is to love and be loved. The Lego enthusiast is also a Beatles fan and makes Lego animation on his spare time. The “Love Me Do” video is one of his best and many Lego fanatics are waiting for more Lego animation from this guy.

Another proof for love’s presence in the Lego atmosphere is a Lego animation done by Ozi. Ozi is YouTuber Kassettendeck’s friend and Kassettendeck posted Ozi’s “Power of Lego Love” in the video sharing website. The clip is a 5 minute mini Lego movie originally made for a wedding -sweet right? Although there is no script and the story can only be told through the different background songs, the “Power of Lego Love” is still a masterpiece in its own right. However, basing on the comments, you’d either love it or hate it. There shouldn’t be room for hate though since we should all be celebrating love.

Lego love stories abound -some are done by children, some by adults. There are clips on Taylor Swift’s most popular song “Love Story” aptly titled “Lego Love Story” but these Lego animations are not as good as the ones done by Ozi and Guerra. They are still worth mentioning because this is yet another proof that Lego love is in the air.

Circle Circle Dot Dot and Other Lego Videos

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

Circle Circle Dot Dot is a playground song for kids that supposedly functions as a way to immunize kids from cooties. The song has been reinvented as a rap song though and Nate Burr, a Lego animator, did a Lego music video for it. “Circle Circle Dot Dot” is a song by Stu Stone and Jamie Kennedy from their album Blowin’ Up.

Nate Burr a.k.a Blunty won Jamie Kennedy and Stu Stone’s contest for homemade music videos through the Lego stop motion “Circle Circle Dot Dot”. This video is a fun one and it is well-made as well, Blunty deserves kudos for this one. The song is cool too so bring these two (Lego animation and Circle Circle Dot Dot) cool things together and you got an addictive Lego stop motion music video. Circle Circle Dot Dot was released in 2006 under JKSS Records.

Another rather entertaining Lego stop motion music video is Inglis93’s Lego Star Wars Gangsta Rap from the popular “Star Wars Gangsta Rap” written by Chris Crawford and Jason Brannon.  Thomas Lee, an animator discovered the song in the year 2000 and utilized it to develop his Flash skills. The flash video was Star Wars Gangsta Rap’s first music video. Lee later on showed the video to Bentframe and together they formed BentTV.

There are many Lego versions of the rap song and they are all equally adorable even if the lyrics are gangsta. Well, nothing is too gangsta for Lego minifigs. In fact, there are even funny Lego videos that talk about Lego porn. This is not something that parents would like their kids to watch though. One example of such a video is Legos Gone Wild“posted by YouTube user daneboe. The video is about the hottest Lego chicks that are willing to bare their bricks in front of the camera. This funny video from GagFilms may be something Lego enthusiasts would not approve of but well, it is worth seeing and not really offensive. Children should not see the video though.
