For those who love to bake, cakes are the best gifts for Valentine’s Day but what’s this got to do with Lego bricks? Well you can make a Lego-inspired cake that is edible of course. Not only kids can have some Lego fun, adults who love these Danish bricks are also entitled to have a Lego party.
Katie Lemberg and her mom developed a rather fun idea of integrating Legos in their parties and you can do this with you Valentine’s party as well. In honor of 9 year old Katie’s favorite building blocks, her mom made a Lego cake.
Here are the ingredients
1 sheet cake (13 x 9 x 2 inch)
Food coloring (red for Valentine’s Day)
8 cupcakes
Toothpicks
White frosting
Instructions
Turn your cake upside down and then place your cupcakes on top of the cake. Hold the cupcakes with the toothpicks and then frost it with the color you want. The cake should look like the photo shown here.
Of course your cake should be red if you want a Valentine’s theme for your party. If you want a heart shaped cake for Valentine’s Day you can make a cake molded out of your Lego base and then cut it into a heart afterwards. Use red frosting and voila! You have a heart shaped cake to enjoy. Whether you are planning a big Valentine’s party or just a simple dinner for two, making your Valentine’s Day special through Lego has never been so easy. All you have to do is let your imagination run wild and of course use your Lego base platform as a mold.
If you want more Valentine’s Day party ideas that are inspired by Lego you can try adding gift bags or take away bags for all your friends. Fill it with Lego hearts. They will remember your Valentine’s party, that is for sure, because it is unique.

Every child or collector wants to have his or her own Lego Town. Who doesn’t? Lego Towns are cute, fun to build and fun to look at. Lego Towns come in many forms and sizes and of course styles. One may opt to build a Pirate Lego Town where all inhabitants almost always say “Aaaar!” or a modern Lego Town where there are skyscrapers and modern architecture. Whatever your choice of Lego Town, be it Old World or Harry Potter World, the platform is the same.

The first thing that you should do is to pick the largest base plate you have. If that large Lego base plate is not enough, you can combine the small ones so you have a larger area for your Lego Town. It is recommended that you start with a green base plate or a grey one rather than combining a few small ones. The base should preferably be either a 15” x 15” plate or a 10” x 10” one.
Create simple rectangular houses by putting your Lego bricks on top of each other. Do this in such a way that it looks like you are building a brick house so your Lego houses will not look as plain. Apart from that, layering them this way will keep the house more secure and your walls will be sturdier. Make sure that you leave openings for your windows, and doors though. Be sure that your houses are tall enough to accommodate your minifigs.
Make a “V” for your roof but if you want a different design, you can make two “Vs” clamp together and add a chimney.
If you do not like your designs much, you can get prettier designs online where you get full blown instructions for a pretty, little house. There are many different styles to choose from depending on your theme.
In your Lego Town, make sure that there is a police station, a hospital, a few stores and shops, a hotel and of course a park. Create this are where children can play and where there are lots of trees and flowers. Do not forget the park benches and the Lego animals playing around the park.

Whether you are looking into purchasing a suburban bungalow or a tiki Spongebob-inspired shelter, building houses with Lego has always been possible and of course, fun. The keyword here is fun, fun, fun. If you are planning to create a Lego house right in your own backyard, it would be best if you base it on your own house. If you think that is a bit boring, then go for a grander one and base it on houses featured in architecture magazines.
For first-time Lego builders, starting small is the best way to go. Build a cabin for your kids by taking a base plate then make a rectangle that will be able to accommodate children. Building a house out of Lego bricks takes a lot of effort and time so if you do not have much time to do it, make something that is not life-size.
A ranch house is easy to build. Use a base plate and create your ranch house’s outline. Once you are done start stacking those Lego bricks. Make sure that you leave gaps for your doors and windows. When done with the first level of your Lego ranch house, you can now decorate. You can make beds, couches, chairs, tables and other furniture and appliances inside your Lego home.
You would have to decide though if you want a second floor for your house. If not, go ahead and proceed with the roof. Get a combination of angled bricks, angled tiles and flat plates. Strip pieces are advisable if you want your Lego ranch house to look rustic.
If you do not want to do your own design, you can try making custom Lego houses. They come with instructions and all the parts that you need –making it easier to build your very own Lego house. Have fun!
