Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Traveller’s Tales and LucasArts gave Lego Star Wars a nostalgic effect for gamers who are also Star Wars fans. The action-packed video game is a concoction of George Lucas’ attention to details and the beauty of the little coloured bricks. Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga may be as old as time for those who have played the game but this game never fails to impress after a few years of its release. The complete saga has a great deal of special effects and content. And if you have not yet played any of the Lego Star Wars games, well the only sound advice that a Lego fan can give you is to play it. But if you have played any of the first releases of the Lego Star Wars, The Complete Saga can be a bit of a déjà vou.

The appeal of Lego Star Wars however is undiminished and it lets its players act out many of the memorable moments in the movie through the use of Lego minifigs. These scenes are very accurate that hit really makes Lego and Star Wars fans squirm in delight.  The game is focused on puzzles. If you decide to play it, you will be in an action-packed journey to Naboo palace and then to the cloning facility. Fans can also navigate through the streets of Mos Eisley and the corridors of the infamous Death Star. Other distinctive locations from the movie are included in this Lego adventure.

Choose from the many characters in the game and if you get tired of that character (which is highly unlikely) you can switch to another character. This freedom is one thing that makes this game rather appealing to gamers. The Complete Saga is available in  Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Shoot Down Police Chopper in Batman: Gamer Tips

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Lego Batman is a classic game played in a Lego based world which allows you to engage in a game play consisting of your favorite characters from the classic Batman comic series. Essentially a game developed for children, it has some noteworthy challenges to engage the more enthusiastic gamers. The Police chopper tends to be a hindrance while taking on the Scarecrow’s Biplane. Here are some simple tips to take the chopper down:

Start the game or resume if you left it off previously. Play the stage titled Joker’s Revenge which is the second level in the third chapter. This level is called the Biplane blast which concludes with a three way aerial confrontation between the Scarecrow, Joker and the police force of Gotham city. Fly the helicopter of the Joker and the Biplane towards the left and demolish all the destructible things that appear on the screen. Newer weapons will appear as you go on destroying objects on the screen. The biplane of Scarecrow has missiles that have the capability to reorganize targets. The helicopter can drag mines to destroy large objects which seem indestructible.  Keep shooting till the police force arrives.

Now look for a mine dispenser by going through the billboard. Lay a mine on a multicolored box. After the explosion, an anti-aircraft turret comes in and starts to fire towards you. Use the Scarecrow biplane to launch a missile on the turret. Due to the ability of the Scarecrow to reverse attacks, the turret will start shooting at the police chopper. Repeat the procedure with the colored container and launching missiles at the turret until the police chopper is destroyed. Now this is easier said than done but if you practice you will be able to perfect this move and finally move to the next level.

Lego Rock Band – Videogame

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Lego Rock Band is a video game that uses elements of the Rock Band game and other Lego video games. This game is made for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii consoles while a version for Nintendo DS is still being developed.

Like in the Rock Band games, Lego Rock Band can accommodate a maximum of four players, each one using the different instrument controllers: a lead guitar, a bass guitar, the drums, and the vocals. The four players will play along the rock music song of their choice among a list of selections. During the game, each of the players will try to match the scrolling notes in the time with the playing song. For the guitar players, they will do this by holding down the equivalent button and the strum bar of the controller. For the drummer, he or she will do this by hitting the right drum, kick, or pedal. As for the vocalist, he or she will do this by being in tune and singing the correct lyrics.

But what sets this game apart from the regular Rock Band game is that it uses features of Lego brick-building and has extra modes of gameplay that are Lego-themed. It also allows players to personalize the look of their avatars. The entire gameplay and even the selection of songs have been carefully chosen to make Lego Rock Band family-friendly. In addition, players can transfer songs from this game into other Rock Band games.

After its release, Lego Rock Band received average reviews, with the high point of the game being its integration of Rock Band and Lego video game elements. However, others have said that some of the songs in the selection, as well as some of its other features, are inappropriate for the game’s target audience. Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinions but to Lego fanatics, Lego Rock Band is one of the coolest games in the planet.
