Genesis 6:11-12
The earth was corrupt before God and filled with crime. God saw the earth, and saw that it was corrupt, for all living beings had perverted their ways on the earth.
If it were you, how will you “paint a picture” of “The Flood”? The famous Bible story has been numerously portrayed as the “end of the world” or the “future” of the world. Movies often focus on the repentance aspect, on making you feel guilty and on believing on the hope of life symbolized by Noah’s ark. Inspiring as it may seem, it takes away the topic at hand – the flood. With Lego however, a builder came up with something no less than extraordinary.
In the first few chapters of the Book of Genesis, you will read the part where Adam and Eve realized they were naked and they tried to hide from God. Of course God caught them and banished them from paradise, however, if you try to focus on the prior, where Adam and Eve realized something and they tried to hide it, you’ll realize now that the action is just human nature. That action has become a human trait that was passed on to one person across history to us. We must understand what Adam and Eve felt then, we wouldn’t want to be caught naked by our parents, much worse, naked in public.
Now, if God went away for a business trip and we were left alone, what will we do? Stay home and do nothing? I guess not. And that was how it was like during the time of the flood. Let’s say God focused on other matters and when the time came that He went back home to check on His children, what He saw was something too grave that he brought about the flood. The Bible was a little figurative with its description. The Lego creation however was literal -in a rather fun way.

The Lego creation captured critical elements that show people doing something against nature. This includes drinking too much, gambling, fighting or killing each other (whatever reason that may be), cutting down trees, whatever was depicted as wrong between couples (girl-boy and boy-boy) and whatever that man is doing with the Lego sheep.

This is a camera moment you wouldn’t want to be part of, even if you are guilty. This is like being part of a “you got busted” program. And we all know what happened next, the flood came and we are alive.

King Solomon is a King of Israel and according to biblical accounts, he is the son of David –the guy who killed Goliath. In Legoland, King Solomon is still the same character, someone with great wisdom, power and wealth.

When Lego King Solomon became King of Israeli Legolandia, Zadok the priest, Benaiah the warrior, Nathan the prophet and the Pelethites and the Kerethites put the young Solomon on a mule and paraded him down to Gihon.

When they got to the river, Zadok anointed Solomon with oil. The sounds of the trumpets were heard and the Lego Solomon’s people shouted “Long live King Solomon!”. All his people came after him in celebration. The people were celebrating too loud that the ground split open.
More on King Solomon

King Solomon had a thousand women, 700 of which are his wives and 300 of them were his concubines. This goes the same with Lego King Solomon who had foreign princesses for wives including a Pharaoh’s daughter. In the Lego creation above, you can see Lego King Solomon’s many wives and concubines. The foreign princesses ruled his court but not one of them were as controversial as the Queen of Sheba. The Queen of Sheba was never part of the King’s harem but was rumored to be the wise King’s lover. Although the Bible and the Qur’an never hinted at any type of sexual relations between the Ethiopian and Egyptian Queen, historical accounts say something else.

Solomon however is not famous for his many wives since that was the norm in those days, he instead is famous for his wisdom.

Before Solomon became King, his father, King David commanded his son to obey the commandments. The depiction of father and son is Lego is something very touching but the only question is, why is Lego Solomon wearing a blanket for a cape?

Standing in Legoland USA just outside San Diego, California, the freedom tower was built just a few months after the destruction of the World Trade Center in New York. The creator of the Lego replica is Daniel Libeskind. Its height is only 28 feet tall, large by Lego standards, and has approximately 170, 000 Lego bricks. Julie Estrada, the spokeswoman of Legoland said at the time the replica was displayed said that it is a “way to pay tribute to the heroes and victims of 9/11.” However, even if the replica has been built already, the original is still not standing to the dismay of the American people. It is good however that the Lego replica is at Legoland.
Another interesting Lego replica is Lego Taipe 101 created by DaweiDrake. The creation is very accurate and Drake used green transparent bricks coupled with sand blue plates. The whole Lego replica feels like it’s the real deal. Its builder said he was tempted to call the creation Taipei 10001 since he used a whopping 10, 000 little coloured bricks.

If you think the first two are gargantuan in proportion already, wait until you see the Lego 30 St. Mary. The creation stands in Legoland Windsor and has a height of approximately 14 feet. Amazing isn’t it? This beautiful creation looks exactly the same as the original. The original looks a bit darker though but that is because of the bricks lack sheen.

Skyscrapers are remarkable structures that signify the accomplishments of humankind. In Legoland, these skyscrapers also stand and they are based on the real ones. There are about 20 Lego skyscraper-replicas and they are truly awe-inspiring much like the real thing. This article will only mention 3 of these replicas to talk about it in detail. First in line is Lego Burj Khalifa a skyscraper in Dubai. Eric Hunter, a Lego builder designed this massive Lego structure for Legoland Dubai for its announcement in May two years ago. The structure is 18 feet tall and looks exactly the same as the real Burj Khalifa. It was at the Arabian Travel Market tradeshow for a week and now resides in the main office of Dubailand. Eric Hunter also made a mini version of the Lego Burj Khalifa and he gave this as a gift to the developer of Dubailand.
Another awe-inspiring creation is Lego Burj Al Arab also located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). This Lego replica is very accurate except for the colors but whether it has the right colors or not, it is an exceptional work of art.

The infamous Space Needle in Seattle, USA also has a replica and this beautiful Lego creation was done by Ryan Swarick, a Lego enthusiast. He started this project in December of 2004 and finished approximately 4 years later. The creation has over 30,000 bricks and a lot of sweat, blood and tears. This however is one building that Swarick always wanted to build so the sweat, blood and tears was welcome along with the outrageous budget spent for the project. The Space Needle was built with a futuristic point of view that is why the building stands out from other buildings in Seattle. Today, this is still an rather amazing-looking building and its replica is just the same.

If you love building stuff by using Lego, getting a Lego Digital Designer is a must. The latest version is already available at the Lego website and as always, the digital designer software is free. The minimum system requirement to download the said software is for your computer to have at least 512 MB of RAM, have space of at least 100 MB, 32 MB graphics card and a 1 GHz processor. For those using a Mac, you should have a NVidia GeForce 5200/ATI Radeon 7500, hard disk space of a hundred MB and an OS x 10.4 (and/or higher).
What can the Lego Digital Designer do?
The program gives Lego fanatics the capability to plan what they want to build by putting it in the drawing boards first. This software is an amazing tool for serious Lego builders, and if you use this program it prevents you from building and rebuilding. Mistakes will also be minimized. Now isn’t that great?
The great thing about this software is that if you are a newbie at building with Lego, you can experiment with the Lego designer first and then proceed with the building. You can create a car, a house, a hotel or maybe a helicopter. Whatever Lego project you want to work on, this software will surely come in handy.
Lego Digital Designer 3 has an online panel and an improved user interface to make your designing projects more fun. It even has a new building guide to help you with your Lego project. The software may look fun but it is not as easy as it looks. Adults who are not into using digital software will have a hard time using this design tool. It is not surprising though that children have so much ease in using the software.
