Bionicle Heroes may be an old game to many Lego enthusiasts but this 3D video game makes other 3rd person shooter games look real bad. Based on the uber popular Bionicle, the video game was released in late 2006 on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox 360. A year later the game was released to Nintendo Wii and DS users.

Developed by TT Games and Amaze Entertainment, the game based on the Bionicle franchise was designed by Jon Burton, Jonathan Smith, Arthur Parsons and produced by Nick Ricks. Artists who made the spectacular game into what it is are Michael Snowdon and Think Tank Studios for the opening movie. Lego Company and Micheal Humes wrote the script.

The exciting game features characters such as the Piraka, and the Tao Inika. Lego Bionicle players need to destroy their enemies to get ahead in the game. Puzzles are also integrated for players to progress and maximize their powers.

The rated T (for Teen) game is a great game for teenagers and even if it is already 4 years old, it is still great gift idea for teens who love Lego and Bionicle.

The first ever Bionicle game from Lego is 2001’s Bionicle: Tales of the Tohunga, an exciting game that satisfied the craving of many Bionicle enthusiasts. The first game was followed by the equally amazing Bionicle Matoran Adventures in the year 2002. The games are loosely based on the Bionicle legends so if you are a true blue Bionicle fan and want accuracy in  your game, you will not get it from any of the Bionicle games from Lego not even 2003’s Bionicle: The Game. Although not that accurate, all the Bionicle games from the Lego Group are still very exciting and interesting to keep you glued on your seat.

Support the Lego Troops

As Aristotle wrote “We make war that we may live in peace.” With the ongoing war in Iraq and other conflicts in the Arab world, American, British, German and Australian troops are sent to liberate the people of Iraq. Although a losing battle and although most do not support the war, supporting the troops is a must.

The troops in every Lego nation are always at war especially those who are ruled by boy Lego enthusiasts. Although many parents condone violence, many boys and girls around the world still play with toy guns and Lego minifigs with guns. Playing with guns will not necessarily mean your children will turn violent. As long as they have proper guidance they can play with Lego troops and soldiers. Who knows, your child might aspire to become a military officer someday because of the inspiration drawn from Lego military minifigs.

Going to war is necessary to attain peace. This may not be something that most people would agree on but since time immemorial, mankind has gone through war and a whole lot of hardship to attain the peace we have today. Although in other parts of the globe, wars are still ongoing, many hope that someday there will be peace. That “someday” however will not be realized soon since there are just too many conflicts the world over and this means that the military will always be there, for many decades to come. They are not only needed in times of war but in times of peace as well to maintain the peace that the citizens in their respective countries are enjoying.

There are many sets for sale where minifig soldiers are involved but if you want the US Army uniform of today, you better make one of your own since Lego does not have such versions all they have are the World War II ones.

Lego fanatics, enthusiasts, hobbyists, or people who just can’t get over their love for the plastic bricks: get ready to eat your Lego! No, Lego is not going to release edible Lego bricks but you can! Lego cakes have been the staple party food for Lego-loving kid parties. However, if you love the idea of a Lego cake, you don’t have to gate crash  your neighbor’s children’s party. You can make your own Lego cake with your everyday cake ingredients. Betty Crocker’s recipe for the Lego cake is one of the easiest to follow and using ingredients you can find right in your kitchen.

Difficulty: Easy
Things you’ll need:

1 Betty Crocker cake mix,

water,

vegetable oil,

eggs,
2 containers of Betty Crocker Rich and Creamy Vanilla frosting,

yellow, blue, and red food coloring,

a tray,

12 marshmallows, cut crosswise.
Step 1

Following the cake mix instructions, mix it with the water, vegetable oil, and eggs, and pour it into a greased baking pan. Afterwards, put the pan in your preheated oven to make your basic cake.
Step 2

While the cake mix is in the oven, prepare your frosting. This will serve as the Lego cake’s paint. Since the recipe calls for three colors, prepare small bowls for each color that will be made. Prepare a cup of red frosting, 1 cup for yellow, and 2/3 cup of blue. Leave some frosting uncolored for later.
Step 3

Take out the cake mix from the oven, and let it cool. Cut the top to make it flat, and cut the whole thing into thirds. Cut the last third in half to make it square. You now have blocks for your Lego.
Step 4

Frost your blocks with one color per block. To make the ‘pegs’ and attaching them on your cake, take the halved-marshmallows and frost it. Attach them on top of your frosted blocks with toothpicks and making sure it’s the same color as the blocks they are on. Use six for the rectangular pieces, and 4 for the square. Congratulations on your Lego cake!

How Lego Minifigs Are Created

Exploring the Lego factory is one thing that children would appreciate since the production line of the world famous toy citizens need a lot of love and care during their creation and thee creation of their tools and gadgets but since it is a production line, they are assembled at rather uncanny speeds.

The first thing that happens is that raw plastic material is placed in the molds to create the head, the miniscule hands of the minifig, the torso, hips and the limbs along with its other components such as helmets, vests, swords or guns.

The creation of the torso and the head is a complicated process since they need to have clothes, capes, etc. This process makes the minifigs the most expensive components of a Lego set. The Death Star Diorama for example is one of the most expensive sets from Lego because of its elaborately designed minifigs.

Once they are painted with the right colors and shapes, the torsos are then placed into the assembly machine where the bodies of the minifigs are put together mechanically. The same machine then places other smaller parts like the hands into the arms, etc. If you think this process is a slow one, you would have to see it for yourself and be amazed at how fast these minifigs are made.

After that, the torsos are placed in the packaging area where they placed in their boxes or bags along with their hair, helmet, hat, legs, hips, and head. The new minifigs usually come in “pieces” so that Lego blocks owners will have the chance to actually build their minifigs from the pieces. The original ones came in one blog though i.e. completely built that Lego aficionados no longer need to build it from its components.

Minifigs are very important part of any Lego set, because a set without one, is a lonely place…
